WHATS HAPPENING AT MR MIX?

THE EGG HUNT started as one of Mr. Mixologist's ideas to bring the community and local businesses together. The very first event was held in Easter 2016, when 11 amazing local Consett businesses joined forces to fund a free event for the people of Consett.

With just two weeks to pull it all together, Dan (AKA Mr. Mixologist) created an event that exceeded all expectations, welcoming almost 250 attendees!

In 2020, THE EGG HUNT came to a halt, but it was reborn in 2021 as THE EGG DROP. During a challenging time for everyone, 20 local businesses stepped up to help Dan deliver 100 Easter baskets, packed with sweets, crafts, and games for kids in Consett. And yes, Dan even dressed up as the Easter Bunny! 🐰

In 2024, THE EGG HUNT returned in full force, with incredible community efforts to fundraise for the event. From business sponsorships and an Amazon Wishlist to supermarket collections in Morrisons and Tesco, the event showed how Consett’s spirit of togetherness always shines through.

Now, in 2025, we’re ready to make it bigger and better than ever! Thank you for being part of this amazing journey – let’s make this year’s event truly unforgettable!
